Sailfish

The Illustrated Monsterkompendium is an exceptional bestiary showing the prodigious animals discovered in the late nineteenth century in an unknown island in the Atlantic Ocean and that they are unknown until today. This discovery is telling in a forthcoming book.

This print, extracted from this book shows Sailfish, a small saltwater fish that accompanied the sailors swimming around the ship reaching speeds of over 60 knots. It´s impossible to catch one alive. The back this sheet contains a verse from the poem "The Corsair" by Lord Byron.

The Illustrated Monsterkompendium es un bestiario excepcional que da a conocer al mundo a los prodigiosos animales descubiertos a finales del siglo XIX en una isla desconocida del Océano Atlántico y que habían permanecido ignorados hasta hoy. Este descubrimiento se narrará en un libro de próxima aparición.

El pequeño Pez Vela, es un animal de agua salada que acompañaba a los marineros nadando alrededor del barco llegando a superar en algunos casos los 60 nudos (110 kilometros/hora). Es imposible atrapar uno de ellos con vida. El reverso de la lámina contiene un verso extraído del poema "El Corsario" de Lord Byron.
